Aww, what happened here Sam? You were kinda off in some parts of the song.
Trying a Gary Valenciano song is kinda hard, or should I say really hard! He's one of the greatest Filipino singers there is. Plus I cringe and woot everytime somebody else covers one of his songs. Heck, I am even not that impressed when Lea Salonga covered "Reaching Out" back in 1998.
The thing is, this version lacks emotion. Yes, the arrangement is contemporary but Sam's vocals here is like listening to a poem. He kinda stops on each end of the line.
I can't recognize the diva here on Sam's version, but Regine's backup vocals on Gary V.'s version is timeless.

hmmm, i don't know; it sounds choppy and generic. maybe it's the phrasing.
i don't know if it's just me or what but i love sam's version.
i never knew it was a cover from gary. gary's and regine's version is beautiful as well.
