MANDALUYONG CITY, Philippines – The 23 straight-looking and hunky gay males competing for the title of Mr. Gay World 2011 will be have their final round as they all set foot onstage at Club Mwah, the outstanding theater club in Asia, tonight at 8pm, March 13.
Charl Van Den Berg of South Africa, the reigning Mr. Gay World will relinquish his title and his responsibilities to the next crowned Mr. Gay World to serve as an ambassador of gay men in the whole world. He will continue to carry on the vision and mission of the organization that seeks to fight discrimination and stigma among the gay community, empowers and raises the visibility of optimistic gay men as well as breaks barriers created by discriminative individuals and groups.
The delegates will parade in their elaborate national costumes, swimwear and formal wear as well. Panel of judges for the grand finale night are Karen Loren Agustin, Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2002; Andrew Creagh, editor-in-chief and founder of an Australian-based DNA magazine; Jorgen Landby, Swedish international makeup artist; Remco Teppema, co-founder and co-publisher of a Holland-based gay publications – Winq and Mate magazines; Brian Merriman, MGW’s director for rules and policy and the MGW’s director for Africa and Europe; Charl Van Den Berg, Mr. Gay World 2011; Gloria Diaz, Philippines’ first Miss Universe; and Eric Butter, president and founder of MGW. Philippine King of Talk, Boy Abunda will host the finale show with Miss International 2005, Precious Lara Quigaman and the model-comedienne Wilma Doesnt.
