Having heard both versions now, I see that Melinda's producer, Mike Mangini, totally deconstructed the arrangement from a 90's, Beauty and the Beast-type production into Melinda's much more soulful slow-jam-with-your-sweetie with just a hint of country. Think of the difference as holding your partner at arm's length waltzing around the dance floor verses melting into each other's arms oblivious to onlookers. ;-) This song reminds me of the emotional love-angst Melinda tapped into when she sang Barry Gibb'sHow Can You Mend a Broken Heart on the Top 4 show. Music for grown folks, indeed. ;-)
Thanks, again, Miong21, for helping Melinda's Street Team and Backups spread the Melinda-luv!
